BCI Build Sprint
Develop prototypes to solve real-world problems using Brain Computer Interfaces to control things with your brain!
活动详情
About the challenge
The Brain Computer Interface Club at the University of South Florida is hosting the first-ever BCI Build Sprint. This is a beginner friendly hackathon made for participants to incorporate consumer-friendly EEG devices as input tools to design a novel input used for brand new things. This could be things like stress-relieving tools, games to improve focus, or provide accessibility friendly control. The main objective is to formalize a concrete idea and presentation and use the remaining time to build a prototype for the solution.
Get started
Start by researching problems in your chosen track, between Biotech and Recreation. Identify a point of friction you think can be solved using BCI headsets. Design a solution and create a presentation for it, then work on a prototype. It's ok if you don't have a complete implementation, so long as you can present the idea and a scaffold for the technical implementation. Feel free to use AI tools.
Requirements
What to Build
Build a prototype of your solution. This could be a physical device, a web application including video games, or a website. However you choose to approach it, the most important part is the problem you identify and how you solve it. Your prototype needs to show that it's technically possible, and you are allowed to use placeholders.
What to Submit
1. A 2-3 minute video presenting your prototype in action, or explaining it if it isn't fully functional
2. A slide deck you want to use for the presentation
3. A link to your public github repository for the code of your prototype, including a README.md explaining the codebase
You may work in teams of up to 4 participants.
